2025 marks the 50th anniversary of a great Warbird icon landing on British shores to join the airshow circuit, commemorating USAF personnel of WWII. Under the stewardship of Elly Sallingboe since 1982, it is of course, the magnificent B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B.
The Long Flight Home invites the viewer to contemplate it’s true meaning; a difficult return after a mission, the wider journey through the storm clouds of war, or perhaps the ultimate long flight home of so many airman who never returned.
